Disciple After The Fact is a book-length narrative, the story of Edward, a restaurateur who abandoned something vital in his life, and is being drawn back towsrd it in his waking hours by friends, and in what he hopes are his unconscious hours by a nightmare, guided in the latter by a robot, an old  master, a talking bear, and a couple of thieves, and in this world by an old colleague, his head waiter and a new love.   The author's previous work includes collections of shorter poems from Musings Press of Virginia, Relics of the Cold War and Venetian Spring.

Praise for Disciple After The Fact

Read wonderfully, enaging my complete attention throughout, and has an especially effective after-impression.  The author has great mastery of narrative form.  What makes it truly exceptional is the human level of Edward coming to trips with his disappointment, especially as tied into the future of the cultural and artistic world growing out of how we, in our times, have so distorted reality and art.  This leads to leavels of the poem which work with theater's reality and fantasy, and on to society's realities and fantasies, while the center of the poem has us in a futuristic Inferno.
---Dick Allen, author of Ode to the Cold War,  The Day Before, and many other collections.

Disciple After The Fact is an enormously original work, full of gorgeous and often ghastly visions, a new vision of New York, almost a genre of its own -- or a revival of an ancient, medieval one, the "visio."  It really has something.  It's important, a moral statement about our future that should be heard.
---Frederick Turner
